GENRE: Grindcore/Melodic Death Metal
LISTEN UP: http://www.myspace.com/carcass
The originators of the so-called "hardgore," Carcass is a band from Liverpool, England. Unlike the Beatles who's message was peace and love, Carcass likes to think about some more sinister things. Heartwork, the bands 4th album, was released in 1993 and considered a radical change by many fans, taking a step back from deeper vocals and the gory lyrics. The song structure is like that of other Carcass albums, but I've noticed that the songs on Heartwork are of a more minimalist structure compared to the complexities of their previous albums. At the same time, however, this is a great album, and is a classic to own. For fans of GOOD grindcore.

Haste The Day - Dreamer (2008)
GENRE: Hardcore/Metal/Christian
LABEL: SolidState
LISTEN:
Ah, Haste The Day. Before I talk about them, I have resurrected this site. I hope people read these reviews, oh how i hope they do.
Haste The Day is just one of those christian bands that just doesn't seem to fit that bill. Of course, christian acts can be heavy, like sleeping giant. but Haste The Day, especially on Dreamer, have shown a new side to the hardcore christian genre. not only does it deliver with the technical, intense breakdowns, but in the sense that they have kept to their melodic, singing chorus that drew me and others to Haste The Day in the past.
STANDOUT TRACK: Invoke Reform
No one can hear this song and not nod their head at least a little. The first 30 seconds will melt the face right off you. This song packs power and I foresee devastation in the pit while they tour on the on Saints and Sinners tour.
Here it is, enjoy.
